Among more than 360 applications have been selected 20 innovative ideas of University and College 57 from eight countries to participate in the third stage of IDEup, program Spin2014 which RedEmprendia aims to help realize projects for students, teachers and researchers of the Ibero-American universities.
The promoters of these 20 ideas initiated a training programme which will develop their proposals and manufacture their own prototypes, which will take them to Mexico to compete in the awards of Spin2014, biannual international event designed to boost University entrepreneurial talent in the region and which is organized by RedEmprendia in collaboration with the National Autonomous University of Mexico , the National Polytechnic Institute, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universia and Banco Santander.
The selected ideas come from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Nicaragua and Portugal. Mexico is the country with largest number of proposals between the chosen — eight —; followed by Spain – four-; Colombia and Portugal – three-; and Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Nicaragua, with a project each. The thematic variety characterizes the set of ideas selected IDEup, highlighting innovations in the sector of the information technology and communication (ICT) and those related to the efficiency and the use of environmentally friendly sources of energy with the environment. ICT applications are aimed at improving the management of information in areas such as health, agriculture and the sociocultural. Projects related to the health sector, agriculture and Robotics, with the manufacturing of microstructures or with the improvement of the quality of life and integration of people with disabilities complete listing of ideas finalists.

“Improves your idea” with Spin2014
Until October participants in “Improve your idea” will follow an online training program and classroom designed to mature their innovations, build physical and virtual prototypes of their projects and bring them to market. “FabLab Experience”, includes theoretical sessions and practices of design and manufacture in laser and 3D printing given by FabLab Mexico. Each team may use the FabLab network in their countries of origin to put into practice the knowledge acquired.
The FabLab are spaces of experimentation in the field of production, very linked to their geographical and social fields, which gives them great diversity of objectives, projects and achievements. Some are oriented to creating artistic and cultural, while others work more in the solution of social problems and health.
IDEup will also Mexico, D.F. to the promoters of the 20 selected ideas to complete your training in the “3Days2Spin”, three days – 26, 27 and 28 of October of 2014 – during which about to put their proposals in order to make them known in Spin2014 , the big event of the Ibero-American University entrepreneurship. Spin2014 will offer the opportunity to enrich their experience exchanging impressions and knowledge with entrepreneurs in all Latin America, participating in workshops and training programmes specially designed for them, and attending lectures of prominent figures in the entrepreneurial world. In addition, the 3 best ideas will each get a prize of $ 5000 USD and access to support programs for the undertaking of RedEmprendia, Booster – e.
