On 20 November, as part of the 22nd International Conference of the Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE), the workshop “Technology monitoring and Intelligence in Science and Technology Parks: Key Implementation Strategies” was held, promoted by APTE in collaboration with the Technology Observatory of the University of Alicante.
Delivered by Alba Santa and Sofia Pires, the workshop provided a practical and applied introduction to these strategic innovation tools, essential for integration into science parks and their associated companies. During the session, participants explored key resources, tools, and methodologies for implementing specialised technology monitoring and intelligence systems, aimed at enhancing organisational competitiveness in an ever-changing environment.
The event also featured Cristina Andrés Urarte, a specialist from the Basque Technology Park, who shared her experience in implementing technology monitoring and intelligence systems since 2019, offering a practical and well-established perspective based on her extensive expertise.
The day concluded with a discussion among attendees, addressing the challenges and opportunities these tools pose for the strategies of science parks, startups, and business competitiveness.
This technical training session, part of the conference programme, highlighted how technology monitoring and intelligence have become essential tools for knowledge transfer, innovation, and business sustainability. It showcased how science and technology parks can take the lead in leveraging these opportunities.
